There’s a movement afoot to at least preserve the elements of the original Melbourne Farmhouse in Yorktown, NY and maybe even reconstruct it somewhere else - at least maybe we can do that since the school board has demonstrated that they do not even want to have a conversation with voters about saving this historic 1812 farmhouse. They may not even want to have this conversation either, given the school board’s record of not having constructive dialog with voters. What do you think?

These are taxpayer funds that can be used to restore this historic house. A tragic irony is that the house is owned by the school district and located on the same property as the high school and middle school. Is the destruction of remnants of our history really the lesson we want to teach our children? I hope not…..
